I get no oil pressure at start up. Dont give me change the oil to something thinner. Im already running 5w30. I think it might be a bad oil pump? Does anyone think it might be that?

Clogged pick up, dented oil pan, bad oil pump, worn bearings.

Just so you are aware a thinner oil will read lower pressure.

lol x2 on thinenr oil = lower pressure.
also your gauge can be fucked up. this same thing happend to my fathers truck. x2 on mechanical
also it sounds stupid but try changing your filter to a non-fram brand like mobile one

if you just changed the oil i would say its a good chance you bumped the oil pressure sending unit (sensor) since it is located right above the filter and i have seen it happen several times.

I wouldn't jump on the pump since its a gear pump which don't have any slip to them

Im not goin by the gage. Im going by the sound that it makes. It sounds like i just did an oil change on it everytime i start it. The sound goes away the same time the gage goes up. should i go with a thicker oil?

Is the noise coming from the top end? A thicker oil will stay longer in the top end when it sits. Have you tried that Lucas oil stuff?

Definately get the recommended oil in that. So many times I see that people go with other oils but the manufacturer knows what to put in it. They manufactured it.
Also is it a tick? Lifter noise?
Knock? Bottom end noise? How long does it take to go away?

It a mixture of lifter noise and bottom end noise. First start up takes about 6 seconds before the noise goes away.
