Might as well see what i can find out abotu this, been an issue since last winter basically.
A lot of you have seen this, if my jeep sits for a bit, most of the time itll take a lot of cranks to fire up...and the colder it is, the more it sputters upon initial start up..itll sputter and such as it idles or as i drive until it heats up a little (never more than 20 seconds, i suppose), itll be like that til i really get on the throttle when its cold...not sure what would cause something like this, and i dont feel like its something on its way out, because its been this way for a long time now... when it was hot out this summer, stuttering basically was a non-issue. but the long crank time was there, not sure if theyre related at all.

i dont have an anwsor for ya will, but id like one myself.... my jeep does this also. not the long crank times b4 it fires like you stated. ( which may be low fuel pressure and it takes a wile for it to build b4 it will fire idk ) but mine sputters and hesitates almost like its boggin out when i get on the gas right after i start it ( it is worse in the cold ) i have to let off the gas and get back on again b4 it will accelerate normal without hesitation. after that it goes away till the next time i restart it...

Does it have a cold start injector?

maybe some vacuum line somewhere has a crack, when its cold it leaks, then when the motor warms up the line swells and the crack goes away.

IAC is on the throttle body right?
I dont think these have a cold start injector.

Yeah, I also looked into it and they do not have a cold start injector. If I recall, the AIC is located on the throttle body.

the start up problem is most likely the check ball in the tank/sending unit. basically the ball is not holding the pressure in the lines and is letting it drain back into the tank. when you toggle on/off several times it builds enough pressure/fuel in the lines to start it.
