Heres the deal.
I have a stove in my garage. its entirely made up of back burners.
oh well.
but as money comes and goes, I pick up parts here and there, and things do move along, however slowly.
As I attempt to make some money to throw into the TJ this winter to get it ready to wheel for next year, I will be keeping myself busy by jumping around a bit.
Thanks to Stryker, if i can come up with a few bucks on the side, Ill be picking up a Dana 300 T-case from him in the coming weeks.
With any luck, this will be going into my CJ.
For this project, I will be reusing the 304 V8 that came with the CJ, as well as the T150 3-speed tranny that was mated to it. I am ditching the Dana20 T-case in favor of a ---/Dana 300 doubler.
this --- would preferably be an NP231.
The only problem with this is that I dont know how hard (or expensive) getting an NP231 mated to the T150 is going to be.
I tried searching Advace Adapter but found nothing useful.
so. would anyone happen to know any other doubler that is popular in 70's cj vehicles that was easier to bolt in?
Im willing to find another case to mate to the D300 if it would bolt to the T150 without issue.
Would the low range in the D20 I have be a worthy canidate?
I know they suck as a normal case but maybe just as a lowrange box?
Im not as worried as you may think about stress on the driveline, as Im planning this build with Mog 404 axles, which, thanks to their portal boxes. reduce stress on the entire driveline. Its still a concern, but not a big one.
