Hey Dave I was watching the vacuum gauge in the vid and was curious, could you possibly produce any boost just by revving it? Bouncing it off the limiter? I would guess it would be minimal if any. Or are you only going to produce boost when your driving and get in the throttle? How far does the throttle blade need to be cracked before you start boosting rather than having vacuum?
This turbo stuff makes me wonder more of the specifics.

You'd be hard pressed to produce boost without load. Just reving it will not net anything unless you have an anti lag set up in your vehicle where it dumps tons of fuel and retards the timing, thus creating load. You will only produce boost driving with a generous throttle and load with this size turbo. Just driving around you can just about drive normal if you don't have a heavy foot and not go into boost if you really didn't want to. My green 4 door Civic was different. The turbo was super small and you had to try not to boost it. The throttle blade position vs. boost depends on the size of the turbo and load.

So I see the line going from the outlet side of the turbo to the wastegate, it's actuated by pressure correct? This would mean your wastegate is going to open at 8 psi?
Also your blow-off valve should be dialed to that as well? Are all the these adjustable or just bought pre-set for different psi?

The ebay ones like this one need a bit of fiddling with but for the most part work fine.

My new replacement wideband got held up at PLX so it still isnt here. I have the one from J and M that is a portable hand held unit. I just got a step colder plug for it in a bit of a different design that our engine builder researched for me. He says it will work much better than the stock projected tip plug. I also got a new magnaflow muffler that is straight through with no camber or restrictions so I need to complete the exhaust and quiet it down a bit more. Lastly I bought 2 feet of firejacket material to wrap around my fuel and brake lines due to its close proximity to the down pipe.
The Jeep will see the dyno after I get a decent street tune. J and M motorsports guys are bugging me to throw it on the rollers.
