I responded. Im not going to be a dick. Lets see what he comes up with. A 6 cylinder log is a retarded idea. If he thinks he gonna get that snail under the intake and not have issue with heat soaking the intake or contact with the suspension he is crazy.
My kit ,unlike his, will be built on the cheap so normal people could copy it and afford to do it without having $5k available. My turbo will sit where the air box is and will bring the down pipe down the same side. Im going for low boost (8psi) and low spooling for crawling and low end torque. Im hoping full spool under 2k rpm.
I was knocking around the idea of jigging up my kit when Im done and making piping kits that you could mix and match parts with cheaply.

It depends on how you would want to do it. Huge money turbo, big dollar intercooler or meth injection, fancy standalone engine management. Then its big coin. If you do it my way with buying used parts and bargain hunting it will be sub $2k easily. Mine will even be a bit more expensive because I insist on having a wideband in the car to tune with. Most people just take it to a tuner.
Every turbo kit I even built for myself was about $1k or under but I make everything myself, install it myself, and tune it myself. I guess it depends on how deep you want to get into it.
I bet if you really hunted and pecked, and made everything yourself you could do it for under $1k.
I will run the tab as I build it so you can see what I spent.
