^^ 100% agreed.
do that (the cheapest) and wheel the thing. you will then figure out what you want or need after a year or so
the tummy tuck is a great idea to do now as well. If you actually beat thing look into upgrading the arms to something beefy like the jks/rubicon/curry ones (flex joints are nice).
and i know its non lift related but rocker gaurds are worth there weight in gold

Waiting for the shrockworks to come in the mail, but they said it would be 8-10 weeks, so I have a long wait.

The tera flex 3" is a great lift, rides nice and is decently priced. we had it in our 97 tj before we got the LJ, that and it includes most of what you need to get going, maybe an adj trac bar would be needed instead of redrilling the axle mount but otherwise it was a great kit and fits 33s perfectly.

Noob chiming in here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but 32's BARELY fit a TJ stock, so 33's would BARELY fit with a 1 inch BL. Wouldn't that make for a real shitty trail ride with very little flex??
I just think you should save some pennies, do it once, and do it right....then go take it out. That way you've got some ground clearance, and you'll minimize your chances of breaking or denting something. And def get the rocker guards, haha!
Friend of mine had an XJ and wheeled it stock for a while before he got his lift and tires.....he DESTROYED the thing, so that once it did have the lift, it looked like absolute dog shit!

You have alot to learn. Droop = flex. you don't need 3" of lift for 31s to get OMFG SIQUE FLEX. You can run a BB with 33s the same way you can run an XJ with 3" of 37s. Get the right shocks and bumpstop accordingly.

Right you are Ken! Thanks for the advice guys. Now that a plan is slightly made, I can now plan and budget accordingly (hopefully)

Whats a BB? Haha, Sorry guys for the noobness. I myself just like the way jeeps sit with a suspension lift, and being eye to eye with full size trucks is cool in a jeep. As of yet, I don't do a whole lot of wheeling, so when I start getting more into it, and pushing my TJ, I'll find out what things work better than others. I would love to get a tummy tucker at some point as well!
