99 4.0 in 96 xj?

will the 99 4.0 be a straight swap into a 96 xj or will there be any major changes that need to be done. Do i use the intake manifold and all the sensors off the 96 engine on the 99? Sam already answered pretty much everything i just want some more input before i spend my monies.

You can use, the intake manifold and the 99 engine on the 96, you need to reuse the computer, ign system, etc for the 96. All the sensors from the 96 should fit in the 99 manifold the 99 manifold is better than the 96. If there are open holes cause a sensor is not used just plug it with a bolt.

Thats as much as i know but i have heard of it being done before.

got home from the jeep rally and there was a puddle of antifreeze under my jetta. tired of putting money into the jetta and happened to see a 96 for $400 that needed a bottom end and i happen to have a 99 4.0 in my garage so.no i did not get ahold of the guy yet but we will see what happens
