So my RC track bar's threads seem to be loosening up. LOL big suprise.... Anywho. I was thinking about making my own double shear unit. I looked online at the RE and the Treks for ideas and for $250 I don't know its worth my time to make it myself.....I kinda feel like an ass buying something I can make but I want to actually just drive the truck now insted of work on it for a change.
So opinions. buy it or build it? reasoning for either?

its ok to buy every now and then...
and i love TNT very much buty dont buy their bar...the bar and mount is sick but the bolts they use on it are way too small, no excuse for how weak they are IMO
ive broken 4 (axle and frame end) sam has broken probably double that.
buy the RE 1660 bar

BUILD IT! If you have the means might as well. The toughest part was bending 1.5 .25 wall dom for myself.

I used a johnny joint, not sure what brand 2.5 inch I think for the body end and re-used the end off the stock track bar, removed bushing, welded the end onto my dom. Cooled and installed bushing.
Bending took a lot of heat from a very large torch, a securely mounted vise and someone else to pry from the top with a jack handle or equivalent.

DO NOT try to drill out the bushing tnt supplied, you will just burn out your bits and/or melt the bushing away (its a 2 stage hydroelastic or some shit)
