more fun stuff to look at... I really need to get that Aussie installed in the front, still awaiting the release of the Aussie for the Xler 8.25 for the rear. My other truck is a family herloom. My gramps gave it to me and told me the only condition was that I can never sell it and I must burry it when I'm done with it. Well, digging a hole here in Delaware county would not be anything I'd want to do (like 3 rocks per grain of dirt), so I plan on keeping it running until someone burries me instead. I put 2" springs and shocks on it and had the 31" LTBs on it.I got some nice fat wheels for it and will get some 32" or 33" tires someday. The engine is on borrowed time with more knocks and taps than the mind can comprehend and it has never had a tune-up. I have a strong smallblock to swap into it, but time and funds have not allowed me to get it in yet. It's an '84, I call it Lloyd.... Do ya think it needed the springs?

Welcome to the forum! My father had one the same year as Loyd in black but it completely rusted out and was no way as clean as that. We had to take it off the road in '99 when the tranny gave out after many years or rough slow plowing and landscaping use

I'm trying to break the record for the longest noob intro ever. I've had more hobbies than I can shake a stick at...one of the more recent being scale 4x4 remote control. I customized a kit to make a rear leaf sprung and front coil sprung early Bronco. It's got mad suspension articulation, a shiftable 3 speed transmission, and a functioning winch- all operated off of a twin stick 4 channel radio. Here's an old vid from before I upgraded and refined the custom front suspension... Before my son was born I was working on a scratch build of a replica of Lloyd. I'll probobly get back to work on that this winter.... I even found the perfect driver and passenger.... I know I'll probobly get busted on for playing with these toys, but there's alot that can be learned and applied to modifying and driving full size 4x4s at a fraction of the price. Now if I could just find an XJ toy body shell.......
