well its on 33's now. the rear fenders definitely have to go and I definitely need an electric fan. It overheated after being driven around for a while and idling for about 30 minutes so i really don't think that it has anything to do with the t stat or water pump we replaced. Anyways heres another shitty picture with a phone.

looks sick dan, but seriously, if the jeep isnt over heating as fast, it still could have been a bad waterpump, and still will overheat, that electric fan does a lot from what i have observed so i think once u get one in there, that should solve your problem. correct me if im wrong.

Flush the cooling system and see if that helps.

When I first got my jeep it cooled fine but if I sat for awhile or went offroad the temperature would rise above 220 and made me weary. I installed an electric fan and it solved my problems. Then I needed a radiator and Andy hooked me up with a newer one and I never needed my electric fan again. My old one must have been pretty clogged up after 20 years of abuse.

ya. an electric fan is just a bandaid for whatever is really wrong. most likely your radiator is clogged to fuck with scale or your h2o pump is bad even tho it is brand new. also check your fan clutch

Yeah, I heard a clerk at BJ's tell someone else they needed to regear their axles for 31" tires on a wrangler. Thank god I don't have to deal with that shit.

I forgot to mention that I don't have a fan shroud but one is on the way. From what I have heard that can make a pretty big difference as well.

Fan shroud on an xj wont make a diff, i have not had one in many past xjs, Do a radiator and get the h20 pump warrantied when you do it and do a new one as well as a coolant flush. i just did a new fan clutch on my 98 and it made a big difference though on hot days it still goes up to 215 with a 3 core high flow radiator, high flow h20 pump high pro t stat and coolant flush and new fan clutch and electric fan.
