Project Marauder Part II: Stock Fitting and Installation.

It is a Ram Line synthetic stock I got from MidwayUSA designed to fit the Marlin 336.
Problem is it doesn't fit very well. The channel needed to be opened up almost .06 of an inch on the upper and lower tang cutouts.

See it doesn't fit.

So I put it on my Mill.

Holy shit it finally fits. Process wasn't too bad, using an almost new 1/2 mill bit helped out a shitload because dull bits or heavily used ones just melt the plastic rather then cut it. Damn Chinese.

Had to open the rear tang screw hole up a few thousandths as well. I'd hate to be some Joe Blow Sixpack that purchased this stock for $40 then had to go to a gunsmith like me and pay $100 to have it fit. Suckers.

The stock also had some cheesy fucking buttplate on it too, which came off the stock and went into the garbage.

Hollow Stock.

I found myself an 8/10ths Kickeez to fit to the stock.

Used a good vertical disk sander to grind the pad to shape.

It basically looks fucking badass right now. Took the scout scope off and ordered a Burris Red Dot sight for it.

Will post more pics when the red dot gets in.

Yeah. It is fuckin awesome. For normal stuff we use the bigger bridgeport that I pictured, the other one with the digital readout we use on more precision based things like custom scope bases.
