your jeep is built wrong with your two part bumper. there are younger people on this forum that really look up to will and you need to get over yourself. how do you sleep at night? what is wrong with you? you should just leave this site. you are an awful person for using smileys in an inappropriate manner. you should be a role model here. im going to the admins about this. good day and happy illegal wheeling cuz thats probably all you do you irresponsible asshat Ummm, was this directed at me?

Been awhile since this builds seen the light of day eh? Anyway..now that my jeep has combusted, ive decided it is time to stop fucking around and really take care of all my lingering issues this winter. First on the list after i fix whatever glaring problem it is i have now...is the Steering. I am going the WJ conversion route. I already purchased knuckles and brakes for 100 shipped total off some dude on JF, and am waiting on those now. for those of you unfamiliar, here is how the WJ's crossover steering is oriented (this is on an XJ): and heres a link to the job www.4x4wire.com/jeep/tech/brakes/xj_wjbrakes03/knuckles/index.htmThis is what I have now, Inverted-T: Basically for this to be complete, i need to relocate my trackbar to over the axle..and POSSIBLY cut down my draglink, though it looks like it may work, i am unsure. Does anyone have any suggestions for an over the axle trackbar mount? JKS sells theirs for 53 which isnt too bad at all...but hey doesnt hurt to ask. And no, dont tell me to "fab one" because as it stands i am incapable of fabricating things at my leisure. Yes I know my family owns a steel shop, no they dont owe me any favors So thats out of the way. My trackbar has a lot of adjustment left to shorten it, so i will pray that this trackbar will still work once its over the axle, if anyone has any input on that let me know...not sure if the bend in the trackbar will matter. This job requires welding in a few places, so anyone willing to help with that when the time comes I'd really appreciate it...i can pay you back through whatever means you'd like.

i have the JKS bracket and it looks to me if you got someone to cut your trac bar right where it bends near the bottom (making it a straight bar) then tap it and use your TRE you should be all set.
i'm thinking about doing the exact same thing to my jeep, i HATE my inverted T setup and would like to do a WJ or high steer knuckle.
keep us posted with any ideas you come up with and i'll be glad to help you with this if you need

Yes inverted T is fucking garbage, and its time for a real steering setup on this rig...i agree
ill keep this all updated with everything i do...cutting down the trackbar there is probably a good idea...i need these knuckles in hand i guess to get all the real measurements i need...no idea how much shorter all the linkages need to be...i THINK my tie rod is go flight as it is though

ever toy with doing OTK steering conversion? or is that not really necessary. i like the WJ Design better, I feel like it would be much stronger. does this require a new WJ dana 30 also cause of different style knuckles?

with this i would have the WJ crossover which i'd default to OTK as well. either way i am 100% set on being done with inverted T

are you gonna keep the same tie rod? i think i may be able to use my driver side knuckle thats over the knuckle and a WJ passenger knuckle? hmmm

tie rod my issue is this:
i think it will be long enough, but the TRE on it that accepts inverted T is pretty damn long...and it looks like a nice weak point in the steering at that point. maybe keep it temporarily if it works...but eventually get a new tie rod/TRE when it comes down to it. really depends on how it works out length wise

good call
make room in your garage, get yoself a space heater or some of those sick Home Guido lights and go to town.
im not really comfortable with welding a critical component on someone elses vehicle, but i have never had a weld fail on my piece of crap. i'll hook ya up if you can't find anyone else.

are you gonna keep the same tie rod? i think i may be able to use my driver side knuckle thats over the knuckle and a WJ passenger knuckle? hmmm You can't the prob there is you'll have two different knuckles the WJ knuckles use a different rotor and caliper setup, so you'ld have a bigger rotor and caliper only on one side of the jeep...which could work i guess??? but just dont do it.
