Ye ai thought about that but the rotors are oiled in the packaging. I cleaned the surfaces tha ti wanted the paint to stick with paint thinner and left the oil on the pad to rotor surface. Most of it actually comes off relativly easily and wha tdoes not i can use a rad with more thnner on it to get it off or a scuff pad.
The only reason for painting the rotors and calipers was to prevent rust. I hate it when i go out and spend all kinds on money on parts that just get rusted within 3 weeks of install.
Now any part thats not touched by the pad will have a nice coat of paint on it. The inside flange, the outer rim of the rotor, basically any part of a rotor you usually see rusted is not painted so it wil llook and last longer.
If i wanted it to be blingin i would bought the red or blue paint for it all, i just want it to last not be blingin.
As far as the diff cover Yea that i wanted a bit of bling. That and i thought to my self, What color would be completely obnoxious to paint the diff covers? Bingo Super duper bright green. I will do the front diff cover the same color after i order it in a few weeks.

Thanks for the offer greg.
I will keep that as my backup. As of today thursday the 27th my friend is gonna come over tomorrow and set the gears in the d 44. Its already in my garage so it willb e warm and dry to do it.
But i do need the gears set for the d 30 eventually but i dont even have them yet b/c i dont have the cash for them. I would love to swap in this d44 before i come down for my won ton steering and have greg put my d 30 gears in but the $$$ just is not there, and my friend is setting up the d 44 for a case of beer.
That being said i will reluctanyly have to come down the weekend of the 27th fo rmy won ton and the m&g with 3:55 gears and stock axles again. I dont want to swap the d 44 in and chance getting a storm and being stuck in 2wd.
Oh and today my d 30 riddler diff cover come in.
What i still need:
HPD 30 4:56 gears reverse rotation ( i am assuming)
Master OH kit.
U bolt style yoke from Tera lfex to match the one for the d 44.
Superior axle seals.
Possibly new timken bearing unitbearings.
and finally an install.
OMFG, i feel like one of those stupic Jeep Forum 8 month d 44 swaps. MAybe cause thats how long this is taking. WTF, I wish i was loaded or at least better payed.

OK i need some help here, i am supposed to get the gears set by my friend matt this saturday, i know i need an inch pound torque bar and a foot lb bar but what else? I am gonna rent and borrow what ever i can and also pick up a set of cheap bearings for setup bearings.
My next question is, will there be a difference in the bearings that would cause the setup bearings to be bigger or smaller some how (in thousandths of an inch) and cause the shimming to be incorrect?
My friend that is gonna do this is much more knowlegable than the other kid that offered to do it so he knows what he is doing but i would like some insight.
