that 44 is out of a scout correct?
does it have inner and outer axle seals? and use packed wheel bearings?

no inners that i know of but the outers are there and yes the bearings are packed in grease, there is a steel donut type thing at the end of the axle that keeps fluid from getting to the bearing. i didn't know much about it so i just greased em up

i know my dana60 uses the same outers as scout 44's from like 1960-1975
it has an inner and outer seal and packed wheel bearings. the outer seal is part of the retainer plate.
