Very beefy. now i gotta finish the other side, about half done. drill holes for j-joints and mount it and weld it to the frame. this setup is way nicer than i originally anticipated and i'm starting to get excited for some results

that looks like it will be a lot better, but why not do the middle section of the xmember the same way, it cant hurt.

Dude. Stop. Please. Do not for the love of christ and his holy minions in italialand, don't mount your fucking arms to the crossmember...please. hahhhahhahahahaha. No. maybe you don't get it, so I will show you the light... ITS A FUCKING STOCK STAMPED SHEETMETAL FUCKING CROSSMEMBER. DOESN'T MATTER IF YOUR FACE EXPLODES IN A TRILLION GRADE 8 BOLTS IT WONT FUCKING HOLD. NO STOP PLEASE
STAMPED
SHEET
METAL
SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL SHEET METAL just build a new x member or build off the framerails. what you are doing now is the downslope of what was shaping up to be a nice build.corey, i dont know too much about what you are building, but from what ive seen on naxja, and pirate4x4, it is a very very very very very very very very very bad idea to mount your longarms to that stock crossmember. im not trying to bash your project, because its awesome you are building your own shit instead of buying a bolt on long arm kit. i just know if you were to go over to pirate4x4 and post this , people would tell you the same thing everyone here is , but they wouldnt be as nice about it.

guys you are shitting all over my parade. there is no longer a stock crossmember. in no way am i using any of the stock mounting points or the "sheet metal" from the crossmember for my build. it is all at least 3/8 thick metal holding my long arm mounts to my frame. the mounts are WELDED!!! it is very duty and very overkill.

i have a serious headache from welding in an unventilated garage so i had to stop for the night. i was having a lot of trouble with the welds on the frame. i cleaned it really well with wire brush and grinder but still wasn't having the results i like to see. tomorrow i will find out what was going on and re-weld it.

You welded your crossmember to your unibody? ? Never mind, I guess you can now unbolt the center of it at least.
