thanks thanks and thanks. as always anyone is welcome to come check it out, just pm me and ill give you my cell # well heres some pics of the problems. as i said the previous owner had offset the engine to the left to have extra space on the right for a driveshaft, but my front diff is on the left. you can see in the pic its so far offset, the front output of the transfer case hits the left frame rail I was going to try to move the motor mounts over, but im just going to make some new ones. I looked around the web for some ideas and found the ones pictured below and I like them a lot better, so im going to copy them. I think like novak and advanced adapters sell them but whats the fun in that? heres what im talking about . much simplier then but anyway i put the body on to check the transmission clearnace and such and everything fits. im going to cut the firewall back a little more though just so i have plenty of room. gettimg my tires tonight i think, so i might put them on for hahas as well

wow, thats some serious room for tire, 40"? :brows: yeah the tires are 11R16 michelin XL military, that is what i said too, my buddy brought my tires over the other night (was storing them in his barn) and i put them on today. The jeeps sits way too high, im going to lower it 4-6." but heres some poser shots next to my cherokee with 4" and 31s Yes it def needs to be lower, i dont mind being upside down, but i dont like it if i can avoid it

wow thats very stretched inthe front, IMO it would look cool if u moved the grill forward and then stretched the hood. im not a fan of the skinny tires but whatever works for ya,
how will u lower it without losing up travel?

wow thats very stretched inthe front, IMO it would look cool if u moved the grill forward and then stretched the hood. im not a fan of the skinny tires but whatever works for ya, how will u lower it without losing up travel? I have thought about stretching the hood and fenders actually but it wont be more than 2" or 3". I am not a fan of the ones i have seen stretched 4" or more, unless the tub is stretched to match. i dont have a hood yet, if i can somehow obtian 2 of them i may stretch out the front. Look a few pages back. I posted a picture of Jake Munoz's white flat fender, which also has a considerable frame stretch with leafs up front. the front tube work and winch hide it well. I plan on doing the same altho having an extra 2" in the engine bay would be nice as far as uptravel goes are you refering to how far the suspension can travel before it hits the frame or bumpstop, or suspension travel in general. I think there is plenty of room for the suspension to move under the frame. I do plan on using a shorter shackle in the rear which i suppose would limit the droop, but the main leaf lengths front and rear will remain the same. I have used one or two leafs in the front and rear packs with a fair amount of arch to give the whole pack the shape it has. I may try removing the leafs with more arch and replace them with equal length leafs with less arch. I have been collecting leaf springs for years i have about 100 different leafs here haha

man this build is coming along great. i also agree with stretching it a few inches, though you are right about the winch and bumper concealing the front well. keep us posted, awesome work
