I'm posting this for a friend. Title says it all. Needs to have stock gearing. Not sure of what gear ratio it has. I'm pretty sure it's 3.55's but I'll find out for sure. He doesn't want to pay a whole lot. But wants a complete axle. Let me know what you guys have.

whats the difference from 97 - 01 to all other years aside from the disco version? i thought they are the same..

no difference. anything 91+ will be the same as long as gearing matches.
though i lie, the 95+ ones have better ujoints.

i have one out of like a early 90s, high pinion, non disco, 3.55, whats he willing to pay.

pretty sure either HP or LP 30 will bolt on, the HP has the pinion higher up on the diff housing which gives better driveline angle especially when the vehicle is lifted, while the LP has the input near center of the diff

like i said, i may be wrong. But im pretty sure thats the only differences. I know the TJ's dana 30s are LP's and XJ are HP but they both swap over to each vehicle so everything else must be the same

stock, an HP housing may cause for issues with exhaust clearance on the 00-01 XJs. thats why they came with LPs im pretty sure. (00-01)
other than that possible issue, they will 100% be interchangable.

If you find out it's 3.07 gearing, I have a mint 30 that came out of my 04 for 50 bucks. or free. Just come get it.

if u know its not a 00-01 then the axle i have will work. if he wants it,  50 bucks? it needs a bath. |
