ok so i spent all week doing research into reinforcement and construction and different load applications........and here's the late night draft....either a hitch bumper or winch bumper in case it wasnt obvious, the red plates are the mounting plates for the unibody and that whole colored structure is the subassembly to brace for the hitch and everything, the bumper welds onto that, and the d-ring tabs are drawn twice, they are the blue pieces on the subassembly(also pictured on the actual bumper shell), and will fit through slots in the face of the bumper, and then be welded there as well. the yellow translucent plate pictured is a 1/4" thick gusset brace to weld ontop of the hitch tube and to the main 2x4 tube. im thinkin about puttin hooks on top too just for convenience sake and cuz i will have mine left over when i put it on. the winch bumper is the same but obviously minus the hitch tube and 2x4 crossmember square tube, that is replace with just 1/4" angle that will also serve as the tray for the winch to mount inside the bumper the winch design is a more straightforward design and probably a better idea in the end, only difference is the bumper would be a little deeper as the winches are about 6.5 inches deep and 23 inches wide at their biggest (from warn) and justin/corey dont worry i can get all of the steel if you want myself from our steel yard, and id be willing to throw some more bucks (alcohol? ) your way if this gets too involved, though the only difference from my original original design on the winch bumper is the 1 piece of angle for the tray. Hitch Design:Winch Design:

forget the hitch, winch is where itll be at
i wouldnt trust anything thinner than 1/4" to withstand a sideways pull force of 8000+ pounds from a winch. meanwhile id like the actual shell to be able to get knocked around a bit so 3/16 i chose for that, plus its just more bracing for the whole design
