This may be known already and if it isnt its pretty much just logic.
No pics but if you know how the vacuum system works you can figure it out:
1 - Remove all the Vacuum wiring that leads to the fork assembly on the d30 2 - Remove the fork assembly 3 - Inside the axle shaft, slide the slider over both axle shafts to engage 4x4 4 - Leave the fork assembly where it would be if 4x4 were NOT engaged 5 - Place the assembly back in place, but this time the fork will not slide over the slider but rather be to the passenger side of it (this will keep the slider in place keeping your jeep in 4 wheel drive, all the time) 6 - button it all back up and have a nice day.
