3.5 RE packs in the back. When I transition from coasting to load I get a bad vibe I can hear and feel. I think its the slip yoke. If I do a PORC SYE can I cure this and can I use my stock rear drive shaft?

when you do an SYE you need to get a CV shaft for anything to have any effect or even work
it could also be a shot ujoint in the rear driveshaft, or even front. check alllll ujoints. i have become a veteran of driveline vibration procedure as of late haha
if youve never had vibes because of your lift height before chances are that isnt it now if its a new thing. though the SYE/shaft you should get anyway when u can

id imagine its you're axle wrap showing its ugly face again.. when you hit the gas the axle wraps more and puts it at a bad angle.. causing the vibe..

Suggestions on a good priced source for the parts? Tom Woods? I have a 95 some I guess its a np231. Should I get the PORC kit and then a driveshaft?

Do exactly this Get the PORC SYE like you said. And then price your tom woods CV shaft through DC at DC4WD.com he will own everyone else's prices hands down. he always has i mean realistically this may not be your issue anyway, but i think an SYE is always a good idea anyway when lifted

Why not just go to the junk yard and get a front ds insted of spending the money on a over priced shaft?
you can use the stock front shaft outta a xj.. since you're around 4in try to find one from a 5 speed jeep as it will be a bit shorter.. problem solved..

or you can run an old junkyard shaft.
personally id rather have a brand new woods shaft and be done with the crap, ive gone through endless driveshaft issues myself.
but i can also confirm the front XJ shaft works without a problem, as thats what im doing right now cuz i fucked up the yoke on my woods shaft doing ujoint shit

Check the rear u joint first. If not that, then add a few degree shims. This will be alot cheaper route. I have a friend that has a 4.5 " lift, still running the SY and he has no vibes.

I had a shim in there and had crazy vibes all the time. RE said to remove it and I did. I may yank the rear shaft this weekend and check the U joints. Its only at about 4.25 in the back right now. RE said that I should not need any SYE at this height. I am willing to buy it but another $280 for a driveshaft is gay. I dont like this truck that much.

After I exploded my Tom Woods drive shaft in i84 this Sunday, I put a stock front driveshaft in there. Seems good to me, no vibes. I'd do that if you get a SYE
