XJ lift question.....
should i get the RE 5.5 longarm kit or something else?
i have 33's and am going to trim the fenders, but i might want to go to 35's soon after....
i am a newb to the XJ world...i know YJ's but this whole coil and leaf thing is foreign to me.

RE kits, while theres really nothing wrong with their long arm kits, i think they make the best short arm kits, but long arm id go these other routes- www.tntcustoms.comwww.claytonoffroad.comTNT you can order from the outfitters store or tnt direct, and they started specifically on the XJ application and have only recently branched out to TJs and i believe YJs. i believe clayton you only have the option of him or maybe 1 reseller, but itd only make sense to go direct through him seeing as hes local in waterbury. his kits a weld on, tnt is a bolt on. my money wouldnt go to any company other than those 2. personally im doing tnt. cant go wrong with either for an XJ i figure great resellers (only jason at jeepinoutfitters resells the tnt kit) (redrock is gonna have RE stuff as well as Jason's shop) www.redrock4x4.comwww.jeepinoutfitters.com

thompson eh? I'm from glocester RI. not far from you. Anyway for longarms I would go with TnT. and If money is an issue It's hard to beat the Rockkrawler 3-link. www.trc-offroad.com can hook you up with a quote. Depending on how you want to build your rig imo 35's fit nicely on 4.5". everyone tells me "it doesn't look proportionate enough, blah, blah. Lets go do some off camber shit and see who rolls first. The way I see it is find the tire size you want to run and work around that. Use the minimum amout of lift you need to make it functional. The lower you are the cheaper it is too.

i forgot rock krawler. they used to have a bad rep but have since cleaned that up i do believe, thats another option, but like sam said, that would come after tnt, (and also clayton IMO)
rock crawler is really a good bang for buck kit, but also 3 link as opposed to the radius arm style of the others mentioned

the rock krawler does have it's flaws though. mainly the grease fittings snapping off if you look at them wrong and a loud ride.
I don't care about how loud it is really, It's a jeep not a caddy.
and as far as the grease fittings go i said fawk it I'll just run them without grease and when they get some play in them I'm gonna upgrade to currie johnny joints. (after 8 months they are still as tight as they were new)

personally no, not mine.
unless youre doing a completly different hardcore build pirate4x4-esque
like elipticals and airshocks/coilovers
but lets assume you arent for this. tnt/clayton all the way, and of course RK
