What is a good program that is cheap/easy to use that can patch together video clips for a continuous video? The handycam we used came with software but that only allows you to crop them and not rearrange them or anything.

all good editing software is the same. honestly, if you want something quick and easy (i hate to say it) use windows movie maker.
otherwise, good cheap ones are corel studio, adobe premiere elements, and vegas (theres a cheaper edition somewhere other than Pro). anything besides movie maker has some sort of learning curve.
