There's this one guy that works at the one here in Newington that is a total dick anytime I need something... and I guarantee I am the only person that walks in there and knows exactly what I need and what it is for everytime I get there....
so I went to advance yesterday to get some tie rod ends and some grease for the little gun my buddy gave me (had filled it with loose grease and it works intermittenly so I wanted cartridges)....I get there and they only have the cheap generic stuff in 3oz carts... so I said skip that. Go up to the parts counter with the parts I need printed out with part numbers from the store's website... guy behind the counter is a total dick and is like oh the prices online are different so I cant match them you gotta order online... So I had him search by vehicle and he gives me attitude about it..... So I just left and ordered synthetic polaris grease and some tie rod ends from rockauto....

I went to Autism Zone 2 days ago and the guy would NOT stop telling me how shitty it is to work there.

I know Advance sucks, Because I used to work there  I usually go to the Napa by the house, and the Auto Zone down the road up here is actually really good....  |

There are idiots at all stores, all the ones in the area know all my vehicles and my name so I'm basically set.
Advance's prices online are usually cheaper for whatever stupid reason.

I go to autism zone if I need parts but if I need advice and parts I go to the napa in town. It has been there forever and up until a few years ago it was fair auto. All the guys that work there are old guys who actually know what they're talking about and have been working on cars for 30+ years.

I used to work at a NAPA and we could have a line out the doors just so people could be waited on by one guy who knew everyone in town and everything and cars. Those are the types of guys you wanna work with.

Lucky for me, RJ -RkymtnTJ works at the Advance I go to. So I just go when hes there and he gives me the blue light special or whatever it is I need.
Another guy that works there has a lifted yota that he just took the bed off and built with a ford 9" rear end and 37" swampers. He helps me out too.

I have some good rants about the autoparts stores i go to, but i wont get into it. I will say that when my girlfriends brother started working at the local parts store, my life became alot easier when it came to getting something I needed. half the time I could call him while he was there, and he would drop off parts on the way home. He wrenches on my jeep with me, so he actually knows whats going on and what parts are needed, and the best part is that when I actually do go down while hes working, ill ask him if they have the part and he just looks at me and goes, "What, am I your fucking maid? go find it yourself!" and then I just walk into the back and find it myself haha. It makes life alot easier having someone you know work at parts stores. Ryan used to hook me up ALOT when he worked there. that was always awesome too. thanks DUDE!  |
