if you want help with where to get parts i just did a full disc brake conversion on my dana 60 and it's went together perfectly, and it wil only around $200 opposed to the $800 that most kits cost

if you want help with where to get parts i just did a full disc brake conversion on my dana 60 and it's went together perfectly, and it wil only around $200 opposed to the $800 that most kits cost I thought about it, but i think the drums will do me just fine for the time being. As you can see from the title im not diving into a pool of cash so im kinda taking on more than i can afford and doing everything i want may take awhile so the disks will probably wait for later. Just for future reference i wouldn't mind knowing though, i've heard you can try to find disks off chevy d60 rears out of JY's for cheap. BTW: Anybody that has any input about my build feel free to throw your ideas in. Most of the build will be done by me and my father. My father has a stick welder and knows some stuff and i know the general stuff about jeeps but as far as swaps like this ive never really done any of it so any info is welcome.

Can anybody tell me if there is a way to get the chrome off the 44 diff cover. I dont have the money to buy an actual cover, just looking to not have it look so uber gay until i can.

No sir, unless i need to sit for 20 minutes with a wire wheel in the same spot it doesn't work. Maybe its just me but when i started cleaning off my axles i thought the same thing, wire wheel should do it....nope sat there for like 5 minutes didnt do a thing. It seems like the wheel just slides right across the chrome instead of digging in.
