how difficult is it to replace the hoses and fittings? how do you know if you need to replace the fittings?

Usually replace the fitting that screws into the tranny. If the rubber line is moist then replace that. I know doin it on a XJ isnt hard. I dont know about a TJ though.

tj isnt hard. i have done it before. its a pain in the ass to route the hardline around the header and as i recall the lines from the dealer are rather expensive.

If you dont know where its leaking from clean off the tranny and lines then drive the jeep. Then check where its wet.
