dont want to bother throwing money into the 35...i figured its the next best thing to do...
what do you guys think? care to list the pros and cons?
i realize a rear lunchbox is probably more desirable for daily driving but im no where near putting a stronger axle in yet...
only things ive found out so far through reading up is:
turning radius is decreased
CV's are put at risk ( i would swap in xj or tj shafts, but WJ D30 is wider ) and custom chromoly shafts would put holes in my pockets...spare CV's are only ~$50 from rockauto ( and im only on 31's so i should be alright)
lose full time option on pavement ( i dont really use it much so im not too concerned, but then again its nice for when it snows out)
is the daily on road driving that bad? ive heard no you wont notice it at all, and ive heard yea it binds up and is loud and obnoxious...
any takers?

well i just put one in pedro's 8.25 29er. the thing is sweet. not to loud, and great off road. and only took about 2 hours to install but woulda taken about an hour and a half if i read the instructions right that was also the rear tho. but anyway i think its a great locker and i think phil has one in the front 30 on his xj. he may be able to help you

nice i'd plan on installing it myself just going at it nice and slow...ive read all the write-ups a bunch of times and it doesn't look too hard as long as you do it carefully...
i know alot of guys on hear run them im curious to see how they like it upfront...

yea with the 8.25 i didnt have to take the whole carrier with ring out but with the D30 you will have to. so it will take more time but also make it a little easier i think with it out.

Works just fine, take a corner too sharp too fast on the road and you hear chattering from the locker. Haven't gotten a chance to really try it in the snow yet.

it wont bind up unless your in 4wd and youre on a sticky surface. if phil was to post in here he'd say
"STOP BEING A PUSSY AND JUST GET IT CJKVHGUCY23IBFVYGUHDWQBCNE!!111!"

Had one, loved it. I loved the way the front locker worked (open rear at the time). My Aussie made some noise but it always locked up nice when I needed it. The warranty is excellent and I would buy one again if I was to go lunchbox. I think the directions were more confusing than anything. It was a while back so my memory may be slightly off, but it didnt say to keep the c-clip out and you needed to. Some crap like that. Either way, it works, its reliable, it affordable.

i have a lunchbox locker in my front 30 on 31's and have only broken one shaft with plenty of abuse. The install is easy and you wont notice it on the road in 2wd.havent tried it out in the snow yet. I say do it up, you wont regret it.
