I've been on here awhile so if figured i'd start me a build thread like all the other dudes on here. Name; cuz frankly, i shoulda bought less lift, or bigger tires and long arms, but i'll get to that. Bought my 99 XJ for 200 bucks from my buddy's brother, it had 145k on the clock. Issue? The mechanic they took it to gave them some bullshit excuse of debris stuck in the block's cooling system, causing overheating. Also some minor front end damage, but no frame tweakage. i bought it anyway.
When I got it home
It ran fine when i got it there, just overheated, after some inspection i found there was a pinhole in the freeze-out plug on the back of the head...=$2.67 part. Pulled the head, new gaskets, freeze out plug.
Abotu that same time i ordered my lift. heres where its poorly planned(this being before i found out about this site, but lack of internet at my house limited my time online) after selling my GMC stepside i had plenty of money, ended up getting the krustys 6" (short arm=bad idears), AA SYE, Toom Woods Shaft, and 33" TrXus MT's (should have gone 35) AFter like weeks of putting it together after work:
sorry bout the pose, only picturei could find from back then. The 33's were nice with stock fenders, but after I cut the fronts and rears i realized my folly
also added some bad apple diff guards, as the guys who makes them lives 20 minutes away from me, and am currently awaiting stiffeners in the mail. as for wheelin pics you'll have to talk to oo4bangeroo, he has that shit on his comp
