my 4.0l is a piece it has no power and it burns alot of oil. so i want to get a 350. i probably wont run a/c because i never use it but if i can get an engine with a/c i might as well use it. i just want the simplest set up. will 350's bolt up to 93 zj engine mounts or would i have to get new ones and put them in?

cheap 350s suck, and you wont get power til 4 grand, and it wont be as much torque as the 4.0

I love my AMC 360! The aftermarket support is very expensive compared to a small block but I am a huge fan. Even with my factory 2 barrel carb I have plenty of power when on the trail or on the road.
Some drawbacks about a potential engine swap in a ZJ are that a 350 and and AMC 360 wont mate to your transmission. Im not sure if there is an adapter but you could check Novakadapt.com or Advance Adapters. Would you need motor mounts? Yes. There is plenty more things to consider other than motor mounts. Wiring, cooling, fuel system just to name a few. I would guess it would be cheaper to swap in a another 4.0 with some performance or swap in an ZJ 360. Don't get confused, an AMC 360 is COMPLETELY different than a Chrysler 360 that they put in a ZJ.

The 360 or 401 we are talking about are 70's-early 1990ish AMC motors. If you want to go V8 route, you could do a 360 from a 1990's+ Grand Cherokee or Dodge Ram.
